How long does sperm live outside the body. Specifically I have the following questions?

Phew, those are a lot of questions! hahaha
Sperm dies almost immediately after hitting air. It cannot survive and swim around in bath water and impregnate anyone either. It cannot stay on a damp towel and survive, and you cannot get pregnant from a guy going down on you after he deep kisses you after you have gone down on him. I only wish it was that easy!
Getting pregnant without intercourse is possible, but the chances are sooooo slim. If a man ejaculates very near the opening to your vagina…some could get on you and find its way to an egg.
On average, sperm will live around three days, but not out in the air, on a toilet seat, or in water.
Actually, sperm DOES survive when exposed to air… Im just not sure how long. When having sex, air is pushed into the vagina whether you know it or not. It doesn’t mean that all the sperm are going to die, but some might
The reason I say that sperm DOES survive is because there is a method of getting pregnant called the “cervical cap” in which the man is supposed to use a non-spermicide condom and have sex, then you squeeze the ejaculate into this little rubber cup and insert it into your vagina so that the sperm stays near the cervix and doesnt fall out. If it were true that sperm die as soon as they hit air.. then this method would be a bust and no one would consider using it.
That, and when a man goes in to get a sperm sample done.. doesn’t he ejaculate into a cup (which is exposed to air)? It wouldnt make sense to check a sperm count if most of the sperm would die off before it was even tested.
But for a prolonged period of time.. like 5 minutes or something.. the sperm will probably start to die.
I don’t think they can go through clothes or survive on a towel or on your finger for very long though. And I always heard that spit kills sperm almost instantly, so giving your man a BJ and kissing him.. then him going down on you is highly doubtful you could get pregnant that way.
Hell, most of us have been TTC for years and we always have our men ejaculate inside us.. then we prop up our hips for 30 minutes and do all sorts of things trying to get pregnant but with no luck. So I don’t think 1 or 2 sperm finding their way inside are going to get you pregnant. BUTTTTTT theres always a chance. So get on some birth control if you want to prevent it ;)
